Miranda Perez's Biography
Miranda is a cross-topic multimedia journalist and startup accelerator program coordinator.
While serving as a full-time news reporter and covering the ins and outs of the tech ecosystem, Miranda realized there was a huge gap between marginalized founders and their ability to scale their companies using media and press.
It was then that she decided to leave full-time news and become a Program Coordinator at The HBCU Founders Initiative, a nonprofit organization that is engaging rising HBCU students and alumni interested in developing solutions that close the racial wealth gap.
As the program coordinator she helps plan and execute HBCU-wide, virtual, eight-week pre-accelerator and accelerator programs. She also works hands on with founders to help them develop their personal brands and receive media relation training sessions.
Miranda has known that she wanted to be a journalist since she was 12-years-old. She focused on this goal with tunnel vision and used it to obtain a Mass Media Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University, a top #25 nationally ranked HBCU and Black Ivy League.
In her new role at The HBCU Founders Initiative, Miranda is able to bridge her passion for inclusion in tech with her love for media and her proud HBCU alumni spirit.
As an active freelance journalist, Miranda writes about business, tech, politics, fashion and entertainment. She also hosts live and pre-recorded interviews on breaking news and cultural trends.
Miranda’s objective spirit and bright energy allow her to be a source of comfort and warmth to whoever she works with.
She enjoys writing and reporting more than anything as bringing stories to life is her greatest gift. As a multimedia journalist, she is also able to produce work in graphic design, social media marketing, public relations and video production/editing.
Outside of being an emerging media and tech mogul, she's a coffee addict, avid reader, social butterfly and lover of all things fashion.
Always open for work or for a great conversation.
